About
Founded in 1935 by Count Gaetano Marzotto in Fossalta di Portogruaro (VE) and still firmly in the hands of the third generation of the family, Herita Marzotto Wine Estates represents one of the most important Italian players on the global wine scene, with a turnover exceeding 248 Million Euros in 2024 and with over 25 million bottles sold in more than 90 countries worldwide.
A pioneer in the spumantisation of the Glera grape variety in the hills of Valdobbiadene since 1952, a trendsetter of the global Pinot Grigio phenomenon as we know it today, an absolute excellence in the production of Franciacorta, a forerunner of the most recent Alto Adige spumante production, and a promoter worldwide of indigenous grape varieties such as Lugana and Vermentino, HERITA has always stood out for its forward-thinking choices, capable of anticipating changes in consumer taste and occasions for consumption.
HERITA today represents an oenological mosaic with roots in 10 estates and just as many brands: Santa Margherita, Torresella, Kettmeir, Ca’ del Bosco, Cà Maiol, Lamole di Lamole, Vistarenni, Tenuta Sassoregale, Cantina Mesa and Roco Winery. Almost 800 hectares of production across Italy's boot, from
Organic or SQNPI certified cultivation, in some of the most iconic territories of Italian enology: Eastern Veneto, Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, Trentino-Alto Adige, Lugana, Franciacorta, Chianti Classico, Maremma, and Sardinia. Added to these are over 40 hectares of production in the Willamette
Valley in Oregon, United States, where the importing subsidiary HERITA USA Inc., based in Miami, has been operating since 2016.
With the 2024 financial year, HERITA has obtained carbon neutrality certification in accordance with the international standard PAS 2060, following the certification of its Organisational Carbon Footprint according to ISO 14064-1 for all its production units, including those in
United States. A historic milestone that makes HERITA the first Italian winery to achieve carbon neutrality certification.
